A New Format
Fellow Human,
Thank you for being here, first of all.
Second, I'm moving the Better Human Newsletter to an entirely new format and schedule.
I want to get to a daily newsletter eventually, but as a one-person show, there's no way I can do that the right way just yet.
So I'm starting with an every two or three-day format.
I'm expanding the format, simplifying it, and making it recognizable each time you open it. I'm also going to throw in a bit of "news/current events" related to particular topics of interest (not political unless it refers to censorship, big tech, freedom, health).
A philosophy that has served me well as an entrepreneur is a Japanese concept known as Kaizen, which means "constant improvement."
Constant improvement with an open mind is the best way to build in today's work. Full stop.
So I'll be making changes along the way to get to a format that you enjoy reading and I enjoy creating. Here's my feedback/contact form. Use it often if you like.
Finally, I'm changing the writing angle from my point of view to an editorial/publication perspective. As part of this process, I'm aiming to present information without commentary or opinion. I don't think I'll be wholly successful at this since I'm human after all, but I'll do my best to be as unbiased as possible in the delivery.
If you enjoy this newsletter, please consider supporting my work with a subscription (50% of all funds go to our Bitcoin Impact Fund, which is currently at ~$1500).
Without further ado, I hope you enjoy the new format below.
🔥 Useful $HIT CORNER 🔥
🗓 On this day in 1396: The last great Christian crusade, led jointly by John the Fearless of Nevers and King Sigismund of Hungary, ends in disaster at the hands of Sultan Bayezid I's Ottoman army at Nicopolis.
🤬 Big Tech Censorship: Right or Left, You Should Be Worried About Big Tech Censorship - EFF.org
🧠 Mind-boggling: That fish is probably not the fish. Researchers estimate that about 1/3 of all fish sold is mislabeled. Snapper was mislabeled ~87% of the time and tuna ~59%. Sushi restaurants do this A LOT.
🥑 Food: Most people I know don’t have basic cooking tools, even my health-conscious friends that cook most of their meals. It’s mindboggling. Start with a fish turner, a sheet pan/rack, a sharp chef’s knife, a set of these, and a cutting board.
🍳 Cooking: A 10” cast-iron pan will last forever and you’ll use it daily. To wash it, use an abrasive scrubber with hot water. How I do it: grab it while still hot and run it under some water then use a metal spatula to scrape off the stuck bits. Then place it back on the burner to evaporate water. Finally, ad a bit of oil—avocado, ghee, coconut oil.

🔥 Surviving: Don’t shake vending machines! Vending machines caused 37 deaths between 1978 and 1995, crushing customers who rocked and toppled the dispensers. No recent stats exist, but the machines are still a danger.
🐶 LOL: Dogs can sniff at the same time as breathing. Your dog could be left or right-pawed
🌓 Rad: The Moon has earthquakes.
💪 Health: The bones in your feet don't fully develop until adulthood. Childhood is the best time to encourage a barefoot habit. Shoes cause many health issues, including back pain, corns, and other abnormalities in body and foot development.
⌨️ Productivity: Attention residue: Each time you turn your attention from one task to another, the first task will leave a “residue” that reduces your cognitive performance. How to solve: turn off all notifications, airplane mode, and focus on one thing at a time.
🌱 Interesting: The world wastes 1 billion metric tons of food each year, maybe more. In many places, it’s illegal to give away leftover food. Some cities are experimenting with programs to donate leftover food waste to those in need.
🤢 Derp: New car smell is the result of 50+ chemicals off-gassing. Let that thing air out.
📽 Movie: The Petrodollars film → learn how politics really work and why countless “wars” are really waged.
💙 Love: Research suggests it takes hugging or touching for at least 6 seconds for oxytocin and serotonin to release. Hug longer and touch longer for your health.
🌏 Fix Your Minerals
My good friend Barton runs an awesome company called Upgraded Formulas.
After doing his recommended mineral test, I found some alarming mineral imbalances.
I found I have high mercury, low sodium, and potassium. To fix this, my current daily stack includes Upgraded Magnesium and Potassium, Upgraded Memory with Boron, and the Upgraded Iodine. Since adding UF to my daily routine, my sleep is better and that mid-afternoon "slump" is nonexistent.
I’ve always known that minerals matter, but it wasn’t until I tested myself that I was able to see exactly what I needed.
I highly recommend doing the simple hair test yourself and in the meantime starting with magnesium and iodine, two of the most commonly deficient minerals for the average person.

🛠 Proof of Work
Anything that’s desirable is based on scarcity and quality invested. Examples include a delicious grass-fed steak, gold (which requires a ton of energy/money to get out of the ground), and a fit body.
These things are desirable because they require WORK to create—they cannot be easily counterfeit.
This concept is integral to sound money because, without proof of work, the money can be counterfeit, thus eroding its value as more of it becomes available. This is what the US dollar is, btw.
It’s also why we cringe at fake Rolex watches and the bodybuilders that inject hormones directly into their biceps, like this (or massively fake lips and butts).

Something Financial 🤑
💸 40% of all US dollars in existence were printed (poof out of thin air) in the last 12 months.
You may want to read up on 1921 Weimar Germany to get an idea of why that’s not a good thing and why the government’s continued printing (another 3-4 trillion for the approved infrastructure bill) is heading us off a cliff.
Famous Person Anecdote 🎩 🪓
Famous for his mighty beard, Abraham Lincoln was a curious figure. Though he wasn’t actually born in a log cabin, he did have a relatively hard childhood. Hard labor was part of the daily regime in the frontier where Lincoln grew up, and, at the age of nine, he lost his mother to milk sickness.
As President, he would grow to be history’s tallest President of the United States, standing proud at 6’4″. Even after he died, his story didn’t quite end. In 1876, a group of counterfeiters wanted to hold Lincoln’s body for ransom, at the hefty fee of $200,000 in gold and the release of one of their accomplices. They were caught and sentenced to a year in jail.
Business Idea 💡
Reach out to 100 companies/brands already doing video content.
Send a simple outreach script that proposes the following:
“I’ll edit two videos for you for free. Then if you like them and need more done, you can buy a package of 10 edited videos (2 already done) for $XXX price, at $X per video.” (And/or you can pay me a monthly retainer for X videos a month. etc.)
Editing audio/video content is always in demand and is always a bottleneck for businesses and content creators.
This could be a nice little side hustle or the perfect way to teach a young kid the value of hard work, personal responsibility, and entrepreneurship.
Book Corner 📘
🪐 Red Rising → Sci-fi
This is my favorite book. My son is named after the main character.
There are now 6 books and I’m eagerly awaiting the 7th. I think they’re going to make a movie out of this too. They better do the book justice.
A Quote To Ponder 💬
“If history could teach us anything, it would be that private property is inextricably linked with civilization.”
-Ludwig von Mises
A Question For You ⁉️
If you had a billion dollars wired to your bank account tomorrow, what would you do?
Then what would you do in 6 months after you got out all the partying from your system?
The answer to the second question is what you should probably do with your life.
