Friend,
I think of myself as a first-principles thinker.
The ability to strip away what you want to believe because you’re afraid of accepting something else is a superpower.
You can use it to make money, find a mate, improve relationships, live calmly, and accept what you can’t control.
Like anything worth having, it doesn’t come cheap.
It takes immense self-awareness, lots of practice, and consistent hacking away at BS thoughts.
You have to question everything.
Ask WHY 5 times. You’ll often get to the bottom of it.
I’d have to really consider how I got here. I don’t know if I can give a simple playbook for becoming a first-principles thinker, but I’ll try.
Study philosophy - Neitszhe and the Stoics and whatever else you like
I read a lot of fiction and nonfiction.
Read biographies
Spend time thinking
Deeply, reflect and try to understand yourself. Sometimes, just trying to understand why you do things, why you act that way, etc., can bring massive positive changes. Most people avoid this because their Ego is so fragile. They usually externalize blame and project. Don’t do that… even if it’s true. You are the constant in everything in your life, so focus there.

Nature and Cycles
Nature is cyclical.
Human life ebbs and flows, following these natural cycles.
The single determining factor in long-term health as a modern human is... what you do—or fail to do—regularly.
It doesn't matter if you're trying to build wealth, relationships, or health; it all boils down to what you do regularly.
So if you want to achieve something, you MUST, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, build systems.
The first way to do that is to control your environment. Nothing you add to your life will matter if you don't get your environment right. You usually have to start by removing things around you and either replacing them with something better or just removing them entirely.
Control your environment to make your goals EASY to achieve.
Instead, most live in environments and hang around people who make their goals impossible to achieve.
When frustrated, they blame themselves, thinking they lack "willpower."
I promise you that it is a load of $hite.
No human has unlimited willpower, even the most obsessed. All of us are byproducts of what's around us.
If you spend time with healthy people, you become healthier. The opposite is true.
Spend time around positive people, and you become positive. The opposite is true.
Live in a house full of junk food and your body becomes junk.
Consume junk media, and your mind becomes junk.
So on and so forth.
So look around, figure out how to optimize what you see, and then watch as your results become a BYPRODUCT of those changes.
