🦾 The Beach

We've been in Florida the last two weeks and been to the beach six times (and counting).
A few of those times were later in the day, when it cool and breezy.
What a magical time of the day.
The irony is that 95% of the people who live on and around the beach don't use it!
I remember a friend, who shall not be named, lived 20 paces from the beach on the Miami coast.
Yet he went like twice over his two year lease.
But I guess he really wanted to live on the beach... and pay extra for it... 🤷🏻
There's probably some lesson in there about hedonic adaptation and expectations, but that's not my point today.
My point here is to highlight how awesome it is to go to the beach.
So much so that I've now made it my primary life goal to get a beach house (or near a beach house) for the family so we can go every morning and night.
This is what you get when you go to the beach:
Grounding/earthing... look it up
Sunlight on skin and eyes, especially beneficial morning and night for setting circadian rhythm
Barefoot walking supports toe spreading, ankle mobility, and foot and calf strength. There are 26 bones and 29 muscles in each foot.
Presence... the beach is not a phone-friendly place; good riddance. Yet many people still manage to stare at their phones while on their towel or chair. Such a sad sight.
Walking is one of the most important things you can do for your physical and mental health. Especially in our world of prolonged sitting, walking is part of your foundational maintenance routine.
The more I talk and think about this, the more I realize how the beach is the ultimate HEALTH TOOL on Earth.
I literally can't think of anything better.
