Fellow human,
Below is a bullet point list of a bunch of random—though I hope useful—things.
*I’m sending this from my new newsletter platform. It looks a bit different and may come from a different email, but it will be the same weekly AM5 newsletter!
Get outside for 30 mins a day <- This will add years to your life.
Eating home-cooked Real Food from whole ingredients is the secret to your every health issue/goal.
If you don't prioritize sleep, you're sabotaging your every goal.
Eating junk food—seed oils, refined grains, processed foods, sugar—is a slow drip of poison that takes years to kill you, and no pill or surgery or genetic alteration will change that fact.
I was in martial arts growing up. This was before Jiu-Jitsu was a thing. My son is def going to do jiu-jitsu. Actually, the whole family will.
We have a newborn named Rowen. He's four weeks old.
I've been reading Osho. His books are excellent. I know nothing about the "controversy" with him, and I could care less. I care about the message, not the messenger.
Most people can't see past their own bias, which keeps them repeating the same mistakes and living the same way for years on end.
In 2100, humans will look back at 2020 and laugh at how absurd it was/is.
In 2100, humans will look back at 2020 and laugh at how ignorant most people are about most things, especially nutrition.
If there is one thing you can work on right now that will make everything else in your life easier or redundant, it would be improving your self-awareness.
A few books you should read: Red Rising, Antifragile, Fame, Fortune, and Ambition: What Is the Real Meaning of Success?, The Illusion of Money, Deep Work, Straight-Line Leadership, Awareness.
As a teenager, I was arrested when a friend decided to steal a pair of shorts from JCPenney at the mall. We were walking out together, and they grabbed my arm and his, then took our bags. When they stopped us at the store exit, they took our bags from other stores and mixed them all together. I just realized this: how could we both be arrested for stealing the same pair of shorts? WOW, duh. Isn't it crazy that this simple question didn't cross my mind until now, 19 years later?
On that note, never ever ever ever talk to the cops. There is zero upside and unlimited downside since anything you say can and will be used against you.
