š¦¾ Life, History, and Conspiracies
Melius Humano,
Ā
I sent the same intro to the last newsletter to my Wild Foods email list.
I received a reply from a customer who said she regrets ever buying from Wild because I am a "conspiracy theorist."
I genuinely feel bad for her and for people who thinkāor don't thinkālike her.
I didn't mention one "conspiracyā in that newsletter. Nothing current, mainstream, or countering the current ānarrative.ā Instead, it was a short musing on history, the future, and centralized governments (the state). (read it here)
We live in an age where people have so little grasp of history that they can't even think about what it was like or what it will be like in our ever-unfolding world.
I think it's because many think we live in a "post-history" world where things will always be the same.
They can't fathom that there could ever be a revolution, another world war, a nuclear war, or one or more of the countless other things that can and probably will happen.
Just like they've done since the dawn of time.
It's too painful for individuals like this to consider the implications of change, history, and human nature.
So they stick their heads in the sand, listen to the currently accepted thing, and then call anyone that challenges their worldview some token labelāracist, conspiracy theorist, right-winger, transphobic, or whatever.
It is both bizarre and expected, considering we are dealing with humans that evolved from a hunter-gatherer way of life.
The masses are always the ones who pay the price of change. Of revolution. Of War. Of famine. Of Inflation. Of natural disasters.
The wealthy, elite, nobility, politicians, etc., watch from the protection of their ivory towers. They either stay until the dust settles or leave somewhere where their wealth will protect them.
The great irony of our age is this seems to be the standard in historyāa few controlling the many.
Because we don't learn.
Because the average person succumbs to groupthink and propaganda, they vote for the candidate who promises them the most stuff.
It's a weird thing, too, this idea of conspiracy theorists and theories, and that some people are naturally inclined not to trust power structures. In contrast, others are inclined to the opposite.
The most important thing you can do is think for yourself. Plan for yourself.
To not do so is to create fragility in your life and future.
No one said living was easy. Ask Darwin how "fair" or "easy" nature is and her ruthless principle of survival called natural selection.
Many born into modern society grow up thinking life is supposed to be a game with little worry or risk.
To survive is to struggle.
In many cases, death is the easy way out.
After death, there's nothing to doāno pain, suffering, or struggle. No anxiety. No stress. No worry about what other people think. Etc.
Thereās also none of the things worth living.
And that's exactly how it's supposed to be, because that's the side of the coin that makes life worth living. If we were immortal, we'd be bored. We'd have no meaning, struggle, flavor, or texture. Many would seek death because it would be novel, new, and unknown.
Think. Plan. Work. Enjoy. And keep doing it all as you go through the cycles of life and history.
If you adopt this frame for life, you will find enormous meaning. If you seek a life of comfort, you will find existential despair.
Choose wisely.
Bitcoin and Protecting Your Future
In every newsletter, Iāll share a statistic showing how fragile and broken the current financial house of cards really is.
The takeaway will always be: buy Bitcoin, supplies, and hard assets.
Consider not owning public market products that are highly manipulated (you are the product in most cases, so do your research).
Consider not doing what everyone else is doing and recommending.
Helping others, skill, homes
I regularly feel the need to help others get more, better, and faster results.
Each day I get better, I feel the gap between my worldview, understanding, and skills and everyone else's. It feels a bit lonely at times, tbh.
I legit don't care if I sound egotistical. Iām so far beyond caring about stuff like that in my old age of almost 40.
I have proven numbers and a track record to back up my claims. I can outperform most people in the things I'm good at. I've been doing this shit for 20 years, so it's no surprise.
It's also without egoā¦ like this Michalenaglo quote:
"If you knew how much work went into it, you wouldn`t call it genius."
I also don't try to pretend I can do things I can't. I eagerly seek to learn from others who can do it better. Iāve read over 1000 books and counting.
I care little about feeling right and far more about being right... backed up by real-world results.
Data-driven. A phrase made hot in technology startup land.
But it's the most essential thing in life.Ā
Humans have so many ideas and theories, yet they are rarely connected to tangible in real life.
Funny, we humans are.
I sometimes come off as knowing it all.
The thing is, in those cases, I usually know more because itās a subject Iā¦ know more about!
So, of course, it will sound that wayā¦ because it is that way!
You often hear about the ruthlessness and assholeness of top entrepreneurs and performers in any field. But I've found that it usually comes from jealous or less-conscious individuals who put their feelings first and results second.
Most top performers I've interacted with are results-obsessed.
And when you're result-obsessed, you lose some of the niceties most people live by and for.
That is not an admonition. Iām just highlighting the differences. Neither is right or wrong.

There's a story about Steve Jobs trying to recruit someone for Pixar when he left Apple. The potential hire asked him, "What do you do when someone doesn't agree with you?"
Jobs said that was simple. He just has to spend more time explaining why he's right. (paraphrasing)
The thing about experience and confidence is they donāt come easy or fast. Building real confidence that allows you to speak from a place of Truth rather than fear or insecurity takes years of PRODUCING things, trying things, failing at things.
There is no way around it.
Everything else is fake.
The fastest way to get there is by doing as much as possibleāfailing and learning as much and as fast as possible.
Another shortcut is hiring someone to help you save time and money doing it the hard, long, expensive way.
I've been thinking about starting an online mastermind/coaching group for this very reason. It will probably be centered around business, growth, and money. Feel free to email me if you're interested and share your goals from something like that.
Weāve also started looking for land again to move the fam out of the city. So something like this could fit into that new routine.
We're kinda over Austin. I am.
I'm back again to craving a long-term spot thatās safe for the fam, where we have plenty of space and a ton of outdoor stuff for the kids.
I want to build my detached office/barndominum/gym and force a simpler life with less driving around, less distraction, and more nature and streamlined work. (I also want an underground bunker filled with supplies. š¤£)
I think the best life strategy is a multi-city setup. Something like beach-town in winter, NC (or similar climate) during summer, maybe Texas when it's nicer. We might also get a fifth wheel and travel slowly between spots + hit up a ton of national parks along the way.
