🦾 Gratitude is everything
Dear Melius Humano,
Our youngest (4 months old) has mastoiditis. She underwent surgery at Dell Children's Hospital at 6 am to clear the liquid. She's been an absolute trooper.
We may need an MRI to ensure it didn't travel into her brain. And mom is there with her for at least a couple more days.
The boys have been doing well with me putting them to sleep. It's ironic that I recently started doing bedtime, maybe a month or so ago. Had they not been comfortable with Dad putting them to sleep, the last few nights would have been absolutely brutal.
Sometimes life is like that. We must focus on what we can't see because what we can't see is often the most important thing.
The hardest thing about being human is considering what's not in front of you.
When the kids act crazy, it's easy to get stressed out. When you're tired, you might snap or get impatient.
You don't see the hidden abundance right in front of your eyes—the fact that they are healthy and can act wild and crazy.
Instead, you see only your low energy and the act that they keep climbing on the counter, spilling stuff, and throwing toys.
It sucks that we have to get a shock of gratitude through our most challenging situations.
But I guess that's the duality of human existence.
Light is nutrition.
In terms of energy, sunlight at Earth's surface is around 52 to 55 percent infrared (above 700 nm ), 42 to 43 percent visible (400 to 700 nm), and 3 to 5 percent ultraviolet (below 400 nm).
Ouw new Noble Red contain equal Red and near infrared light. Here's why I'm so excited about this technology 👇🏻
When you're deficient in sunlight, you lack the (literal) energy your body needs to function.
The sun provides the energy for everything on Earth. The way this light energy gets to us is through light waves.
We already know how important sunlight is for converting cholesterol into D3, an essential nutrient for your body.
If you don't get enough vitamin D, you die… and might get osteomalacia (the adult form of rickets).
Most of us aren't spending hours outside each day. We need to. We know we need to. We try to. But we aren't.
Guilty as charged.
I know I need to be outside. But modern life keeps pulling me indoors. Back into artificial and blue lights, which only exacerbate the light imbalance—you miss the infrared and red light, then you bathe in blue and bright white LED lights, making your light imbalances worse from both ends.
Red light panels are primarily a way to balance your body's light needs. Use them with other hacks like using orange/red light bulbs at night, removing LEDS from your house, using blue light blocking technology (f.lux and night shift on your phone), and wearables and screen protectors.
This is the basic need for every modern human wanting to live optimally. There is no way around it. Go outside for hours each day or as much as possible while adjusting your modern environment.
Science is a funny thing. The research around red/NIR is so comprehensive that if you could bottle this technology into a pill, it would be the most profitable pharmaceutical in history. That's how necessary/good light is for you.
Research has shown that direct exposure to red/NIR can aid in wound healing, strengthen skin, regrow hair faster, reduce or remove pain, etc. So there are two crucial points here:
1. The general light nutrition you need to replicate what you're supposed to get from the sun.
2. The therapeutic and biohacking benefits of close (6-12 inch) exposure.
At Wild, we want you to win every way you can.
We want you to get sunlight. In fact, your primary light source SHOUDL BE sunlight.
After that, you should mitigate blue and white lights (especially at night) to the best of your ability while supplementing with red/nir to create a holistic and sustainable light program.
It's kinda wild no one is talking about light nutrition. I think this is going to change. We are on the cusp.
I bought a red light a few years ago when I first heard about it. I keep that unit near my feet in my office most days. Then I didn't think much about it.
Something recently rekindled my interest in this technology, and I started researching. That's when I realized how critical this technology is and realized I was underutilizing it.
I now prop my red light up (or my new light on a stand) on my back each morning for targeted back pain relief. I also get full-body skin exposure sessions where I'm within 6 inches or so. My next phase will be rigging a red light inside my new sauna. (More later on my new my custom hacked infrared + traditional sauna setup).
So I'm starting a new ecom brand called Noble Red. We are selling on Wild Foods, and will soon launch a separate site full of light-related content.
Below is the model I use each morning. We currently have only two of these left in stock. However, more are on the way. It's a beast. It's solidly built and has a 50,000 hr lifetime (probably longer).
Red light one of the easiest health modalities you will ever find: flip it on and then read, work, stretch, or watch a show—no other actions needed.
Check out our current models here.
Fish oil Liquid back in stock
We had to reformulate this product because the previous menhaden oil failed to meet our quality standard. Our new formulation is a sustainable mix of wild-caught fish: anchovy, herring, sardines, and mackerel.
The flavor is nearly identical, and so is the omega-3 profile. See the new label attached below. Link here.

Bryan Johnson’s blueprint
I’m not too fond of his vegan approach, and it doesn’t look like he’s tried an animal-based approach, so without that variable, he has no idea the difference it would make. And I bet it would make a huge difference.
Aside from that, the rest is interesting.
Here’s a short interview: Bryan Johnson: Current Business Ventures After Selling His Company To PayPal For $800 Million
I’ve added some ideas from his supplement routine to my already extensive program. My current strategy is to take a bunch of stuff while listening to my body. Recently, adding Wild Fulvic and shilajit caps (40% fulvic acid) has been doing wonders for my gut and energy levels.
