🦾 Get Sunlight Like Your Life Depends On It (cuz it does)
Friend,
I’m checking this out this month on our way up to NC: Oke Farm
They've already sold out of the smaller cabins.
I can't wait to see more of these off-grid, food-centered communities sprout up worldwide.
We decided to move from Florida. The beach is nice, but the kids need open spaces to play outside, and our current home doesn't really have that.
The plan has always been to be snowbirds... come and go where the weather is best.
We're looking in Ga / SC / NC.
The goal is to find 10-25 acres and build a home. Get chickens. Build my detached office/mancave (can't wait for this).
Eventually, I want to do a project on 500-1000 acres like the one above. That's always been my dream.
But instead of making it just a place people come to live, I want it to be where people come to collaborate, learn, grow, debate, philosophize, and do hard things like an adult summer camp/training/school program—full immersion.
I've been working on a Better Human philosophy that combines ancient wisdom with modern technology.
Modern humans aren't going to live in the woods, at least not all the time. So we have to learn how to live in a modern environment in a way that promotes health. We need to find a way that is still complementary to our genes so we can thrive and pass on that training to the next generation.
And the way we're doing it now ain't cutting it.
There's another development like this called Serenbe. We stayed there for a week last year. It's a cool place. The development has a few local restaurants, and the food is delicious and local.
It does feel like another gated luxury community with many multimillion-dollar homes. So inaccessible for most.
It's hard to say how involved people are in the local community. Many of these big homes seemed vacant.
That said, it's still promising to see more real estate development in nature rather than in big cities.
It makes sense, considering how the Internet has decentralized work. Many people don't need to live near work, so why not live somewhere healthier, quieter, cleaner, and cheaper?

Make 2025 a year when you get morning and evening sunlight.
You might already have your diet dialed in. If you're animal-based, you do.
But what about your circadian routine?
Some claim it's more important than nutrition.
There's no way to prove that, but it's at least as important as nutrition. So treat it accordingly.
Morning and night are the two most important times of day to get sunlight.
Combine that with cutting/reducing blue light exposure as much as possible.
You will get tired early, fall asleep fast, and stay asleep.
Get sunlight!
