What does it mean to be a skeptic and why you may want to consider it
Dear Fellow Human,
Skepticism is a principle of the Better Human mindset.
Why is skepticism one of the most important traits for modern humans?
Because the things you think you know are probably going to change.
In fact, if you study history, you can see that no epoch in human history has ever been completely right about much, or maybe anything.
Einstein’s theory of relativity has gaps scientists can’t understand, meaning it could be wrong or at least partially wrong.
Newton’s laws have run into issues with quantum mechanisms.
Zero was discovered, meaning much of math was unknown until that point.
Simply put, there are so many things we still don’t understand about the Universe. And some things we have not the slightest clue.
Yet the average person thinks we live in a “post-history” world in which we know most things and are now just living with those discoveries.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The problem with certainty and rigid belief systems are how you end up playing Russian roulette with your life.
Who knows how a wrong assumption could cost you a lot of money, or your job, or a relationship, or your life.
Strong opinions loosely held.
Or maybe not even that.
Maybe it should be: Strong principles you know for sure, loosely held, and ready for upgrades.
The Perfect Girl?
A friend asked a gentleman how it is that he never married?
Replied the gentleman, "Well, I guess I just never met the right woman... I guess I've been looking for the perfect girl."
"Oh, come on now," said the friend, "Surely you have met at least one girl that you wanted to marry."
"Yes, there was one girl .. once. I guess she was the one perfect girl... the only perfect girl I really ever met. She was just the right everything .. I really mean that she was the perfect girl for me."
"Well, why didn't you marry her," asked the friend.
"She was looking for the perfect man," he said.

Isn’t it strange that people think they need to find the “perfect” person while assuming that they themselves are perfect enough to attract this person.
Adjust your desires and you can have anything.
Perfection doesn’t exist.
