My new war against time theft, how inflation is robbing you daily and how it hurts the most, and is social media healthy?
Dear Human,
Welcome to the Better Human newsletter.
As every single minute counts. The average life expectancy is 70 years, which means that our life is made up of around 840 months, or around 25,000 days, or 600,000 hours.
-This Book Will Save You Time
Time is a fascinating concept.
It slows down when you’re bored or suffering.
It speeds up when you’re having a good time.
Cruel.
And if you don’t pay attention to it, it passes you by.
If you don’t pay attention to it, others steal it from you.
They will talk and talk and talk about why this why that, excuse and explanation, one after another.
In my life, I’m getting rid of my 20-year email address and setting up my company email with an autoresponder.
90% of the email I receive, probably 99%, is spam or someone trying to sell me something.
I no longer want to be reachable. I want to be hard to reach.
I’m confident that the people that need to reach me will find a way. It’s really not that hard without email.

Since we have a ton of juicy content in this week’s newsletter, I won’t keep you from it.
Let’s go!

Interesting Facts about your human body
Infants are born with approximately 300 bones, but as they grow some of these bones fuse together. By the time they reach adulthood, they only have 206 bones.
More than half of your bones are located in the hands, wrists, feet, and ankles.
Every second, your body produces 25 million new cells. That means in 15 seconds, you will have produced more cells than there are people in the United States.
The largest bone in the human body is the femur, also known as the thigh bone. The smallest bone is the stirrup bone, which is located inside your eardrum.
Some important concepts
The first law of thermodynamics, also known as the Law of Conservation of Energy, states that energy cannot be created or destroyed in an isolated system.
The Lindy effect is a theory that the future life expectancy of some non-perishable things like a technology or an idea is proportional to their current age, so that every additional period of survival implies a longer remaining life expectancy. The longer Bitcoin survives, the higher the probability that it will survive long term.
The Black Swan theory According to Wikipedia, a Black Swan event is “an event that comes as a surprise, has a major effect, and is often inappropriately rationalized after the fact with the benefit of hindsight.” The term was popularized by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. The discovery of Bitcoin was such an event. Almost no one believed that a currency native to the internet could ever be created due to the nature of data itself and the infinite replicability of it. We’re still in Bitcoin’s infancy and most people are still reluctant to believe that the network will work long term.

A note about the environment
The Earth is in a cooling period.
We are in the current "Holocene" interglacial, which began about 11,500 years ago.
The climate alarmists and politicians that love fear-mongering to gain power and money will ignore this fact.
This Day in History
Aaron Burr slays Alexander Hamilton in a duel
Duels were legal.
You could each take a gun, stand apart, then shoot each other.
It was illegal to teach evolution in schools in many states. (May still be in some, not sure.)
Some states have sex laws restricting certain sexual activities done at home with a consenting partner.
What does this mean?
Trusting governments or politicians is complete stupidity
Students of history don’t fall for number one
Few today know history
Inflation robs from you daily—are you even aware of it?
What is the problem Bitcoin solves?
Toxic money.
Inflation means an increase, which applied to money reduces the value of said money since more of it is now in circulation.
The reason prices rise every year? Inflation.
The reason the stock market and real estate are at all-time highs even through 2020 lockdowns? Asset inflation.
The reason every restaurant you go to is charging 15-25% more than six months ago? Inflation.
We have inflation because the US dollar (and all government-issued currencies) are backed by nothing. They are printed out of thin air.
And as more money is added to the circulation every year, prices rise because there are more dollars chasing fewer goods and services.
Do you know who benefits the most from inflation?
Asset owners. The rich, especially the mega-wealth.
Do you know who is hurt the most from inflation?
The poor and middle class.
Why?
Because the poor and middle class use these currencies to survive—they make up their savings and earnings from labor.
So every single dollar created means that the little bit of fiat currency they have now buys less, and they now earn less.
They become poorer with every dollar issued.
So do you and I.
The greatest divide of wealth in the history of the world has taken place during the last 50 years ever since Nixon took the US off the gold standard in 1971.
What's insane about this is how few people understand this Ponzi scheme happening in broad daylight.
Yet the masses will blame the rich for the inequality, particularly billionaires with public brands like Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk.
But that's complete nonsense for multiple reasons.
The elite to blame is those controlling the money supply. They and their cronies are the real benefactors of this blatant fraud. These are the actual rulers of the masses, and they gladly serve up identity politic nonsense to keep the average citizen distracted from what's really going on.
What gets me the most about this is how few good people will be prepared when the house of cards comes tumbling down.
Few will own Bitcoin early on, so they will get in later with everyone else and when their wealth is likely to be already decimated.
That kills me.
Social media is…
I'm to the point where I feel bad for people on social media trying their best to get likes, comments, shares.
It's sad.
There's almost no way to say that without coming off as elitist or judgemental.
I get that.
But it is sad how hard people are trying for the hollow return that is social validation.
And it's literally ruining lives and minds, especially the young.
If there weren't so many real-world consequences of this behavior, I wouldn't bring this up.
Be for something rather than against something
This is something I’m thinking about lately.
It’s easy to focus on the negative. It comes naturally to our species, after all.
Instead, let’s highlight the positive. Let’s focus on hope.
Let’s work towards the possible.
Advice is stupid
I now cringe anytime someone says something about taking advice.
If you take “advice” blindly from anyone, billionaire or poor person or fraudster, then you’re acting like a moron.
There is no such thing as advice.
There is only information that you take in and then process through analysis and then if it merits, take action.
That’s it.
So no, don’t take advice from anyone.
Think for yourself. Act for yourself. Learn for yourself. And do more of what works.
Conformity
“The reward for conformity is that everyone likes you but yourself.”
-Rita Mae Brown
Hindsight Bias
Hindsight bias is a psychological phenomenon that allows people to convince themselves after an event that they accurately predicted it before it happened.
