10 Rules for Life
10 Rules for Life
Excellent watch.
Saylor is the one who fully orange-pilled me via the first 9 episodes of the What is Money podcast.
By approaching Bitcoin from a first principles perspective, you see it for what it is (and is not).
When you do, the speculation and price stuff becomes noise. When you see it as the 100, 1000, and 10,000-year innovation it is, you can’t unsee IT.
Simplicity and Focus
This is one view of my Notion work database where I organize projects, daily tasks, etc.
My Notion area has grown exponentially since I bought Wild back and accidentally started an agency (contact us if you need help with your business).
Our team is now ten strong, a mix of local and remote.
We handle client work (marketing, automation), content for our brands, and our physical production for shipping all Wild/Noble orders out.
I always set up my businesses to run remotely.
But there’s still so much value in-person interactions.
I like the flexibility to work from anywhere. I’ll never go back to having to work somewhere physically.
Lately, as our team and complexity have grown, so has opportunity.
There are so many opportunities. So many things we could do. So many ways to make money.
It’s overwhelming.
Nexting becomes a sickness—there’s always another thing to do or another thing I could be working on, so am I working on the “best” thing right now?
That creates a kind of low-grade anxiety.
You’re always wondering what you could be doing. It’s FOMO from a work/productivity perspective. And it can be brutal at times.
In that Saylor interview, focus is one of his ten principles for a successful life. (His first, I think.)
The irony is, I totally agree with him and aspire to simplicity while currently doing too many things.
So it’s a never-ending pursuit of less is more. Simplify. Focus.
Even as I’ve added complexity, I’m constantly trying to simplify by wrapping up projects and returning to the core 80/20 that moves the needle.
Doing that with a team of 10 is hard. It's insanely hard because most people aren’t naturally good at it, or maybe it’s not obvious where they should focus their efforts in the business. If I, as the owner, don’t know that, how will they? We’re figuring it out.
Saylor said his biggest regret was all the good things he pursued at the expense of the great.
So how I’m thinking about it goes like this:
What are my great ideas?
They are Noble and Wild.
Period. Full stop.
How do I focus on them while handling client work and my team?
That’s not obvious, but I’m treating Wild/Noble as clients of the agency.
In that way, as we improve our SEO process or get better at design, content, creative, emails, etc., Noble and Wild benefit since the team can execute each.
Peptides
I’ve been struggling with fatigue for the past couple of months.
I think it’s a byproduct of two things:
Solving my back pain with multiple modalities and that recovery and healing process
Having 3 kids
Having work swell in complexity
So I’m getting a full blood/hormone panel done up and am likely to start with some peptides for the specific purpose of naturally improving hormones, improving gut health, and speeding up the back recovery process.
I’ll be sharing my experience here.
🥩 New Yes2Meat Newsletter Launching soon
I’m working on a new Yes2Meat newsletter with a few others in the alternative health space. (Brian from Food Lies, The Meat Mafia, and more.) The idea is to revive the Yes2Meat hashtag that was a thing a couple of years ago.
The animal-based community has a bunch of individuals building personal brands but no non-human brand or collective movement-based brand.
So we’re going to build it.
Topics will include:
Meat
Carnivore diet
Regenerative agriculture
Biohacking
And just about everything related to alternative health → whatever is the anthesis of Big Pharma, Big Food, and Big Ag.
It will start as a bimonthly newsletter and most likely evolve into a weekly one.

If you’re a small business owner (or looking to get started), reply to this email to set up a discovery call. We will create an SMS and email strategy for you to start nurturing your customers and leads while tapping into the most valuable asset in your business: past customers. By staying top of mind, your business will bring past customers back.
Then every new customer in your ecosystem will stay there longer, spend more money, and refer more friends. It’s a beautifully virtuous cycle, and it’s why the best businesses do this while focusing on making their product or service the best it can be.
Most business owners let money fall through the cracks. It’s mind-boggling how prevalent this is. It’s mostly the rule rather than the exception, as it should be.
We can help you plug those holes so that your sink is watertight. Then, focus on a growth strategy to acquire new customers. Each new customer will be worth more to your business since they no longer leak out of your hull. This synergistic strategy has already generated over $80k for a recent client in only 45 days.

Outstanding and inspirational piece, Colin. In retrospect... I have realized since finding Wild Foods 2+ years ago, my routines and health mission have changed dramatically - and are still evolving. My cupboards were once full of a myriad of “supplements” that (now that I look back) were equivalent to a “Hail Mary pass” (as in football). I had no clue if they would help, but I spent the hard earned money regardless. 🙄 Thanks to your commitment and exhaustive research, I have grown immensely in my own quest for knowledge regarding self-care. My cupboards now contain targeted and streamlined Wild products. The biggest takeaway is that I FEEL different, in a way that defies real explanation. As you grow your business, so we all grow. The rising tide lifts all boats. 🙌🏼👊🏼
