The next time you fall into either/or thinking, remember this

You’re a judging machine.
Nature programmed you to make quick judgments because this kept your ancestors safe and working together, which increased survival for the group.
Our ancestors practiced “fierce egalitarianism,” which means fierce equality—no one above or below. Simply put, we don’t like anyone above or below us because that has historically been a threat to group survival. (It’s also why being “unique” and “original” is so hard to do.)
In the hunter-gatherer context, seeing another human with different skin color and speaking a different language was the same threat level as seeing a leopard stalking your way. They might want to eat you or steal your women and children or kill you for sport. Who knows? The best survival decision in that setting is to assume danger and be very very careful.
In the world today, we are a hodgepodge of different ethnicities, languages, and belief systems, yet our biology is the same. 10,000 years of civilization is not enough time to program out these innate tendencies, and that’s why you get so much of the craziness today as modern humans try to reconcile their biology.
The next time you find yourself thinking “us vs them” or attacking the rich or making some other black/white judgment, remember a couple of things…
You don’t have all the information
Most things are somewhere in the middle, making them never as good or bad as they seem
You are literally acting like a caveman

It’s also better when your inner world matches your outer.
⌨️ Productivity: Attention residue → Each time you turn your attention from one task to another, the first task will leave a “residue” that reduces your cognitive performance. How to solve: turn off all notifications, airplane mode, and focus on one thing at a time.
