Modern humans have this idea that if they whine, complain, and post on social media about some of their perceived injustices, that they are doing something to change or fix it.

But they aren’t. They are just feeding the pendulum and their own egoistic desire to feel ‘righteous’ and/or ‘moral’.

So, back to agents.

Since agents are just ‘sets of text instructions carried out for you,’ the main difference between standard automatinos that have been around for years is this: they're much faster to set up because you can use native language.

You can just tell it what you want it to do, and then it does it, and it runs. Then you give feedback to tweak it, and it gets better over time.

To get started with an agent, I recommend just starting a morning briefing that connects to your calendar, whatever to-do list you're using, and just tells you, "Today you have this. You should get these things done."

You can add logic around recent task history such as highlighting things that have lapsed or are overdue, or the things you're neglecting, and then just keep tweaking and iterating until you have something that helps keep you accountable, helps manage your to-do lists, your schedule, helps keep things top of mind, and that runs on its own.

This is the way.

For me, it creates nagging and constant anxiety, like turning the ‘ON’ notch up a few. And I’m pretty sure this manifests as chronic stress, which we know is not good for long-term human health.

When I feel the most ‘not on,’ it's when I have my shit organized.

And the fewer things to organize, the easier that is.

So after going in wild ADD THINGS MODE, I’m now going into the painful but necessary pruning phase.

At the very least, I’m moving it into maintenance mode where I run a few $ in ads and let the customer acquisition process do its thing.

I digress.

You see, the trap I fell into, and many do, comes from knowing every inch of the business model.

I know how to do 100% of everything in this ecom game. Sourcing, design, selling, marketing, email, ads, LPs, offer creation, custom manufacturing, raising money, exiting (4x times), etc.

That’s a trap. I’m trapped by the ability to see what has to be done crystal clear because it always, and I mean always, convinces me that I can/shoudl do something.

But then the paper cuts start.

Those micro annoyances that seem to always come from every business, every platform, every new prodcut launch, every damn thing you do that’s new create unknown shit you have to deal with.

Even if you’ve done it 100 times… the 101st time will still be diff and come with its own baggage.

I know I’m talking about doing too many different things and businesses, especially at the same time. I’m talking about doing it off the top of your head. Now, as somebody who’s organized and has made a commitment to get into Notion and Billy’s databases and get connected to them, every day I’m improving them.

This is still a really hard thing to do. You get so much drift. It’s just that entropy again: you organize something, and then it gets disorganized, or you forget it. You just lean towards disorder, and it takes constant vigilance and high skill, high commitment to actually contain that and control it. That’s really what I’m talking about here.

The way they’re connected is that the more that you add to your plate, the more things and businesses you have to do, the harder it is to contain the drift.

Running your businesses or projects or life this way, off the top of your head, by the seat of your pants, as they say, it’s just not good for all the reasons. It’s not effective.

You can’t bring other people into your business without a lot of pain and effort. You lose context, you lose things, you forget things. It’s just not the way to do it.

Now that we have AI, we have Notion, we have Google Sheets, Airtable. All these tools are literally designed to help you take an information store and use it and keep things as simple as possible, but that takes pruning, that takes work. It takes violence. It’s like weeds from a garden. Constant.

The second you neglect that garden, it overgrows into a jungle.

And it’s the same way with life. It’s just a law of the universe: entropy.

Do this daily, and you and your AI learn, and your system improves.

🛠️ One Build — The Open Loops Ledger

1. Open one table. Notion, Airtable, a spreadsheet, it does not matter. Four columns: what it is, who it is waiting on, what happens next, and the date it goes stale.

2. Spend 30 minutes dumping every open loop you are currently holding in your head into it. Every promise, every unpaid invoice, every half-answered email, every thing you keep meaning to circle back on. Do not filter. If it wakes you up at 2am it goes in the table.

3. Count the rows. That number is the actual workload you have been carrying with no system underneath it. Most operators land somewhere between 30 and 60 and are genuinely shocked by it.

4. Give your agent read access to that table and one standing order: every morning, tell me which rows went stale, which ones are blocked on me, and which ones I can close today.

5. Here is the rule that makes it stick. You are never allowed to answer "let me check" from memory again. You check the table. If it is not in the table, it does not exist.

6. Two weeks in it stops being a to-do list. It becomes the thing that remembers, which is the only way you get to be the thing that thinks.

🎯 Skill — EMPTY YOUR HEAD

Spend 60 minutes writing down every open commitment you are currently carrying in your head. Not tasks you planned. Promises you made, invoices you are owed, replies you owe, things you keep meaning to check on. Working memory tops out around seven items. Most operators are running forty. That gap is where every dropped ball lives, and no amount of discipline closes it, because the problem is storage, not effort.

Then hand the list to your AI and make it own the follow-up. Every morning it tells you what went stale and what is waiting on you.

One hour. One list. Your brain gets its capacity back. That's the way.

🛠️ One Build — The Decision Handoff

1. Pick one thing you already automated. A Zap, a filter, a scheduled report, whatever runs without you. Write down what it actually does: trigger, action, output. That is a rule. There is no judgment in it.

2. Now write down the decision you make right after that automation fires. The Zap dumps 40 leads in a sheet and you decide which three are worth a call. The report lands and you decide what to ignore. That decision is the real work.

3. Write the decision out as instructions, the way you would explain it to a sharp new hire. What makes one lead worth calling. What makes a line item worth flagging. What you always skip, and why.

4. Hand the automation's output plus those instructions to Claude with one order: apply my rules, give me a ranked short list, and tell me what you dropped and why.

5. Read the "what I dropped" part first. That is where you find out your rules were vaguer than you thought. Fix the instructions, not the output.

6. Run it for a week. The day you stop editing the short list, you have delegated a decision instead of a task. Do that once a month and in a year your judgment runs without you.

🎯 Skill — DELEGATE ONE DECISION

Spend 60 minutes writing down how you make one recurring decision. Not a task, a decision. Which email actually needs a reply today. Which lead gets the call. Which invoice gets chased. Which idea gets killed. Write the criteria, the edge cases, and the thing you always ignore on purpose.

Most people automate the fetching and keep the deciding, then wonder why AI feels like a faster clipboard. The deciding is the leverage. Hand your criteria over and make it come back with a call, not a list.

1. Make one page in whatever you already open every day. Notion, a doc, a text file. Call it LOG. Do not design it.

2. At the end of every work block, write three lines: what you worked on, how long it took, and whether it moved money or just moved.

3. Do this for six weeks straight. Do not analyze it. Do not clean it up. The whole value is honest volume, and honest volume only comes from not caring while you write it.

4. At week six, hand the entire log to Claude with one instruction: read this back to me. Where did my time actually go, what did I avoid, what pattern am I too close to see.

5. Read the answer twice. The first read stings. The second read is your plan for the next six weeks.

6. Keep logging. The report gets sharper every month because the data gets deeper, and nobody else has your data.

Everything is information at the end of the day. Everything is code, even the universe…. just 1’s and 0’s.

Realize this, and you realize that you can build anything.

When you realize this as it relates to agents, you realize you can program agents, you can design agents, you can create agents, you can code agents. Doesn't matter what you call it.

You just need to be able to explain what you want done, answer a few questions, make a few tweaks, and then the thing, which is called a thing, will then do what you want it to do.

2. Open a blank text file. Write, in plain English, the exact steps you would hand a new hire. Inputs, steps, what "done" looks like.

3. No jargon, no code. If you can write a checklist, you are writing a skill. That is the entire trick.

4. Paste it into Claude with the real inputs and tell it: follow this file exactly. Watch it run your process.

5. Fix the file wherever the output missed. That edited text file is now a reusable skill you own. Save it and build one a week.

1. Open a blank doc and list every active project, brand, and product you are running right now. All of it.

2. Next to each, write one line: is this a foundation I am building on, or a shiny thing I started to dodge the hard work?

3. Ask Claude to find the 3 cracks in your current foundation, the half-finished systems that would compound if you just closed them out.

4. Pick ONE crack. Not a new idea, a crack. Block 90 minutes tomorrow to lay that one brick.

5. Every time a shiny new idea shows up this week, write it on a "not now" list instead of starting it. Watch how long that list gets. That is the temptation you are beating.

🎯 Skill — DO THE HARD THING

Spend 60 minutes on the one task you keep avoiding because it is hard, not because it is unclear. You already know what it is. It is the thing your brain skips past on the way to mocking up a new brand or reorganizing your notes.

To get better output, it needs to know who you are. The more context you give it, the better.

Make sure your Claude and our GPT, your global memory, have a Markdown file that’s about you:

• your businesses

• your brand

• your links

• your awards

• your story

• your history

As with any tool, it is only as good as the user that’s using the tool.

This is a simple fix: Create a Markdown file that you can use in any project, and also in your global settings; it can be a complete game changer.

Even better: Ask AI to ask you 20 or so questions needed to make the perfect ABOUT ME Markdown file. Then do it and save it and use it.

4. Start every session by pasting it in, or wire it into your project instructions so it loads automatically.

5. End each workday with one line: "Update the memory file with what changed today." That is where the compounding starts.

Spend 60 minutes writing the one document your AI reads before it does anything: who you are, what you sell, who you serve, what you are building this quarter, and how you like output delivered.

Then start every session by feeding it that file. Watch the generic answers disappear.

Today, as I started my session, I asked Codex to plan out running multiple threads. It said it could. This was a HUGE limitation before, and Claude can’t currently do this (I don’t think).

So I standardized a plan for the day, then I told it I would talk only to MC, and it would manage the sub-threads (agents).

When a thread was making a mistake, like adding copy it shouldn’t have somewhere, I told MC to lock that across all threads. It did. Called it a “firewall.” Then all threads stopped with that error. Before, I’d have to copy/paste those instructions across four different ongoing threads.

Update Jul18 → Apparently Claude can do this. Also, I figured out that I can instruct GPT to show them in sub-chats vs hidden. I prefer the sub-chats cuz I can see the history. Claude cannot do that. Claude only spins up as sub-agents and keeps it in the context window.

This Claude chat below was running 19m with no update. I suspected it was hung. So that’s annoying to have to ask again:

In the new economy, you are reliant on your skills, assets, network, brand, and most importantly, your mindset.

For 99% of people, controlling lifestyle creep is foundational to living this way, having a life of optionality and control.

It’s really hard to make $10k a month (cleared) as a solopreneur or small biz owner. (That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try, btw.)

Most people get addicted to a salary. I think Taleb said something like the two most addictive things are cocaine and salary, and most people with salaries end up spending MORE than they make as they make more.

The paradox goes like this: the more you make, the more you spend, and the more you make, the more you go into debt. That is kind of bizarre, but that's what it is.

I've been saying that the new flex is going to be more about lifestyle, health, setting your own schedule, working with what you want, and not just being told to go do this, do this many times for this many years, and give this many dollars.

Either way, the less you NEED to make, the more power of choice you have.

So make sure you earn more than you spend, and you invest constantly as much of that difference as possible.

Millions, maybe billions.

In most cases, it’s not worth it.

What I realized is this: the lower you keep your life burn and your desires (like having 0 interest in desiener/luxury/flexing crap), the easier it is to achieve security and sovereignty.

Most spend more as they get more.

There are individuals that make 6 figures a month yet are still in the red… and often with a mountain of debt following them around.

Insanity.

But such is human nature.

To get somewhere you want to go, you have to do a few things:

1. Decide where you want to go (the hardest part, surprisingly)

2. Stay committed to that goal with constant course correction and self-awareness

3. Be patient

4. Accept, then act when things don’t go your way.

The thing about AI now I keep thinking about, and what motivates me so much, is you only need ONE door to win.

But finding that door is the hard part. You have no idea. And some people get "lucky" in that they find their door early, sometimes on the 2-3 try. Most don't.

For most of us, it's probably 500-999 doors of the 1000 we have to go through to find that one thing.

It's like you have 1000 doors in front of you, and you have one key. You're going to have to try that key in every door. It might take 999 doors to find the one. Or you might get it by door 500 or by door 100 or, if you're really lucky, by door 19.

Get your AI agent system set up, whether that's Hermes or even Claude Code, it’s the single most important thing you can be doing to actually benefit from AI.

It becomes the backbone of managing all your work, your day, your comms, email, everything. Once you install this as your OS foundation, yo’ll never go back. You’ll only build on top of it.

The next thing you should do is commit to using Claude Code, Codex, or both every time you work. Get a few windows running at once. Aim to keep the work itself to the same business or project, because you start losing context when you switch too much. I've learned that the hard way.

Finally, make sure you're continually organizing your work. Save the links you’re working on. AI window/chat/task creep is real. And it will BURY you if you don’t control it.

I use Notion for this, and I instruct my Claw + Claude to always reference the main project DB and keep everything there before working on any task.

I don’t even look at the DBs much anymore… I just ask it, “What’s next.” This keeps the project and the work all on path and in one area

That outline I just gave you is a foundational way to get the most results with AI right now.

I think this foundation will end up being the way people get results with AI. And even if models improve and new apps come out, this will still serve as the core foundation.

What that means for you is, if you start building those now, then you can ignore most of the hype and updates and just focus on your actual work/business.
